Why is it so hard for some people to understand that it's not okay to degrade anyone (women, homosexuals, different races, etc)? It's not a matter of being politically correct. It's a matter of respecting people for who they are. Why is it wrong for a young woman to get upset when she goes to a show and here's some guy on the mic saying things degrading to her? All of the sudden she's just too sensitive and shouldn't have been at the show anyway. It's bullshit to think that anyone has the right to degrade another human being in that manner. Especially in this community that we are in. This "punk rock/hardcore" community is open to different beliefs and opinions - that's part of the reason why we're all a part of it. It is not about hatred, degradation, intolerance.
NAKED FACE isn't about hating on anyone. It's another venue to help people get their voices heard about the issues that are relevant to us.

There's not really anything better than sitting in a basement, on a porch, or in a car with a handful of your favorite people singing songs and laughing at the silliest things. Unless of course is cuddling up on the couch with pizza and popsicles watching hours of gilmore girls. Then of course there's the times when we crowded in venues to watch our friends play the songs that are the soundtracks of our lives.
These things are the things I'm going to remember 2007 by. It was rough year. Full of the highest highs and the lowest lows. I made some tough decisions and lived through the worst nightmare of my life. I'm proud of myself for actually packing up my car and moving up to Boston, but I'm disappointed in myself by the way I reacted to some things that were thrown my way.
2008 is going to be good. It has to be. I have a few things I'd like to accomplish - the first being a new blog that will be started soon by myself and a couple of other lovely ladies for us to discuss womens issues and that sort of thing. I'm most stoked about that. I would also like to try to tour again this year. I missed it last year. Then of course there's the whole thing of turning 30. Can you say BOOZE CRUISE?!?!
I'll leave you now with a list of a few of my favorite things from 2007:
-that one night in the kids basement with hop along
-500 miles to memphis in tuscaloosa
